Illegal man pleads to rape

It was in March 2015 that Ramiro Ajaulip, 28, Russellville, was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy after being accused of raping an 11-year-old girl in February, while he was living in the house with the child and her family members. According to the Franklin County District Attorney’s office, Ajaulip, who is in the country illegally, pleaded guilty to rape first degree with a sentence of 15 years this week.

According to the DA’s office, because of the nature of the crime Ajaulip is denied probation and will serve at least 12 years of his 15 years sentence before a likely deportation back to Guatemala.

“The victim won’t ever have to worry about him being around again,” district attorney Joey Rushing said.
