Tom Underwood

Thomas “Tom” Lynn Underwood, 87, Spruce Pine, passed away Nov. 1 at his residence.

Mr. Underwood lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Isbell Church of Christ. He was retired from AT&T with 35 years of service.

Visitation will be Nov. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral service will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with George Hutto officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Helen Uptain Underwood; daughters, Judy and husband Raymond Horton and Sandra and husband Kenneth James; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Mary Massey and Verna Rae McColluch; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Addie Bailey Underwood; son, Dwight Lee Underwood; sister, Charlene Lacey; and brother, Bobby Lee Underwood.
