RPD arrests one for child rape

A Russellville man has been charged with rape first degree and sexual abuse first degree following arrest by the Russellville Police Department.

Sept. 26 Russellville police arrested a suspect, Ivan Lemus-Martinez, 33, of Russellville, after a juvenile victim came to Russellville PD Sept. 26 and reported allegations of sexual abuse that had been ongoing for over a year. During the initial investigation, investigators were able to obtain enough information concerning the allegations to obtain warrants for the suspect’s arrest.

Lemus-Martinez was taken into custody at his residence late Monday afternoon and is currently being held in Russellville City Jail awaiting bond.

Franklin County Department of Human Resources also assisted Russellville investigators with the case.
