Carmen Gail Jones

Carmen Gail Jones, 73, born Dec. 7, 1942, went home to heaven to be with Jesus Sept. 22. She worked as a retail sales clerk and was a member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church, Red Bay.

Services were Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Nicky Barnett, Bro. Chris Barnett and Bro. Daniel Merritt officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery, Vina.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bro. Jim Jones; two daughters, Sharon Bolding and husband Joel, Red Bay, and Karen Neal and husband Tim, Nettleton, Miss.; two sisters, Carolyn Shotts and husband Larry, Amory, Miss., and Beverly Barnett and husband Nicky, Stuttgart, Ark.; one brother, Jim Powell and wife Linda, Greenville, Texas; four grandchildren, Heather Murphy, Karissa Roach and husband Michael, Anna Bolding and John Ross Bolding; honorary grandson, Austin Petree; four great-grandchildren, Sheridan Shinar, Carter Shinar, Landon Roach and Layla Murphy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cloie Powell, and a grandson, Craig Henderson.

Pallbearers were Joel Bolding, Larry Shotts, Frankie Smith, Mark Massey, Gerald Collum and Tim Neal. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Powell, Jimmy Powell, Wayne Morrow, Larry Haithcock, Brent Collum, Carter Shinar and Landon Roach.

Visitation was Sept. 24 from 5-8 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church.
