Elmer B. Huckaba

Elmer B. Huckaba passed away Sept. 15 at his home in Irving, Texas. He was born Nov. 18, 1943, in Russellville to the late Charlie and Nora (Montgomery) Huckaba. He married Stella Hill Feb. 28, 1964.

Elmer was a machinist for almost 48 years for Rheaco, now Control Products. He was a faithful member of the Heritage Church, formerly First Pentecostal Church of God, for 53 years. There, he taught the adult Bible class and was the song leader for more than 45 years. He was an awesome man of God and loved his devoted family.

Mr. Huckaba is survived by his loving wife, Stella Huckaba; sons, Tony and wife Shannon and Michael and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Tiffany, Austin, Sean, Collin, Drake and Brookelynn; brothers, Delmer Huckaba of Towncreek and Ted Huckaba of Danville; and sisters, Shirley Nix of Russellville, Mildred Kiel of Russellville and Peggy Smith of Phil Campbell. He is preceded by brothers, James Huckaba and Johnny Huckaba, and a sister, Betty Presley.

The family received friends at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Sept. 19. The funeral service was held Sept. 20, also at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Moore officiated. Burial followed at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
