Matthew “Matt” Grissom

Matthew “Matt” Grissom, 27, of Russellville, passed away Aug. 18.

He was born in Florence Sept. 22, 1988. He was disabled and a veteran, having served with the Alabama National Guard.

Visitation will be Aug. 22, 2016, from noon to 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville, with burial to follow. Officiating will be Bro. Patrick Martin.

Matt is survived by father, Greg Grissom of Florence; mother, Penelope Smith of Bessemer; brothers, Michael, Gregory and wife Emily Grissom and Nathan Gooch of Florence, and Joe Festa of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandparents, Ralph Grissom Jr., Russellville, Linda and husband Gary Stephens, Florence, and Vera Johnston, Harvest.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Johnston.
