The First Metro Bank Board of Directors is pleased to announce the recent elections of Rusty Carbine and Ronnie Garner. These appointments expand the board to 11 directors who are deeply rooted in the areas served by First Metro Bank.

Carbine is a lifelong resident of the Shoals who grew up in Florence and is a graduate of Bradshaw High School. After attaining a master’s degree in engineering from Auburn University, Carbine began working at Carbine Construction Company, a business established by his father, Eugene Carbine, located in Florence. He became president/owner of Carbine Construction Company in 1996. He fills many roles on local boards and committees, including the Florence-Lauderdale Expansion Committee, City of Florence Industrial Board and the City of Florence Housing Authority, where he serves as commissioner. He is also an active member of the Association of General Contractors.

Garner is also a lifelong resident of the Shoals as he is a graduate of Deshler High School and the University of North Alabama. He is the owner of Garner Properties, LLC, and co-owner of Garner Autos, LLC.  Garner has been an active participant in the automotive industry for over 34 years. His accomplishments have been recognized as a member of the Chevrolet Legion of Leaders and the Chevrolet Truck Sales Honor Club for over twenty-five years. He has dedicated much of his life to enhancing the Shoals through his involvement on many local boards and committees including the Shoals Economic Development Authority, Shoals Hospital Board of Trustees, and the Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame.

“We welcome Rusty and Ronnie to the board and look forward to the opportunity to serve with them,” said James D. Hughston, chairman of the First Metro Bank Board of Directors.  “The decision to add Rusty and Ronnie was simple as they will be valuable board members for the Bank in the years to come.  These new directors will bring fresh ideas and perspectives to our board.  Together we will continue to identify new ways to serve our community.”

“Each of our new directors has continuously proven his commitment to our community over many years,” said Rodney Howard, president and CEO of First Metro Bank. “Their combined experience will enhance our understanding of businesses and make it possible for First Metro Bank to continue to be a leader in banking throughout Northwest Alabama and beyond.”
