Janice Marie Pounders

Janice Marie Pounders, 61, passed away June 7 at her residence. She was born in Mississippi, was a factory worker for twenty years and a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were June 11 at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Scott Webster officiating. Burial was in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.

Survivors are her husband, Randy Pounders, Mobile; one daughter, Linda Lara and husband Manuel, Mobile; one grandson, Anthony Mulkey; two granddaughters, Nydia and Jowie Lara; two brothers, Johnny West and Carl West; three sisters, Liz McCarley, Betty Long and Martha Greenwood; and mother-in-law, Frances Pounders, Florence.

Pallbearers were Ilex Pounders, Robbie Roberts, Phil Albritton, Carl West, Johnny West and Kevin Daniel. Honorary pallbearer was P.J. McCarley.

Visitation was June 11, 10-11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
