Local graduate receives Alabama Home Builders Foundation Scholarship

A Russellville resident is among this year’s recipients of a scholarship from the Alabama Home Builders Foundation.

Ashley Holt received a scholarship to study carpentry at Northwest-Shoals Community College.

The Alabama Home Builders Foundation scholarship program was created in order to help alleviate the qualified labor shortage. To apply for an Alabama Home Builders Foundation Scholarship, students must be residents of Alabama, enrolled in or attending a junior college, technical school or university in Alabama and must be enrolled in a construction-related curriculum, like brick masonry, carpentry, cabinet-making or plumbing.

Holt is a graduate of Belgreen High School. She is the daughter of Matt and Theresa Holt.
