RCS calls for feedback with stakeholder survey

Russellville City School System has always prepared and acted on the basis of multiyear, long-range plans. As the district looks toward a future of ever-changing student demographics, fluctuating school finances and the increasing demands from the community and nation for well-educated graduates, the board of education thinks this is the right time to redefine and refocus priorities, according to a recent press release.

Strategic planning will help the board to anticipate changes and make well-informed decisions about the future direction of the school district. This planning process will give the board of education the information it needs to be better able to achieve desired outcomes that have been defined by members of the community and school district.

Part of the strategic planning process, developed by a Strategic Planning Team, is a survey “to enable all stakeholders to have their voices heard as the team outlines long-term priorities, goals and strategies for the school system.” Now online, the survey is open to parents, staff and all members of the community. The survey covers “key topics critical to Russellville City Schools’ success.” Everyone with an interest in the future challenges and opportunities of Russellville City Schools is invited to participate in the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/RCS_Stakeholder_Survey

Interested parties may alternatively access the Survey Link directly through the Russellville City Schools District website under the News section; at any school website; at the District Office; or at the Russellville Public Library.

“The responses to this survey are critical in moving forward with future plans, and input from a community that has continuously supported this school system is vital. The school system appreciates any and all feedback and encourages all stakeholders to complete this survey as soon as possible,” the press release states.

Used on a regular basis in the private sector for a long time, strategic planning is a common and accepted process to routinely chart a long-term course of action. As the vision for Russellville City Schools unfolds, new ideas for the education of students can be created that build upon what the school district has already accomplished.

The Strategic Planning Team consists of district employees, parents, students, school board and community members.
