Hulon Samuel Newell

Hulon Samuel Newell, age 68, Russellville, passed away May 21 at his residence.

Mr. Newell loved the outdoors, being able to hunt and fish.

The visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. May 27 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Daniel Welborn and Dr. Scott Moore. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Angela Newell, Jeremy Hulon Newell and Jammie Newell Hutcheson and husband Matt; grandchildren, Jacob Hulon Newell, Jason Blaine Melton, Brannon Lane Melton, Wesley Hunter Hutcheson and Hudson Grey Hutcheson; siblings, Clinton Newell, Inez Pierce, Martha Tuck, Byron Newell, Floyd Newell and Starlon Newell; mother of his children, Bernice Newell Jachimiack; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Newell; mother, Mary Newell; and brothers, Jack Newell, Jimmy Newell and Virgil Wayne Newell.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Franklin County Sherriff’s Department, Franklin County Coroner Elzie Malone and other first responders. Also a thanks to Dr. Morrow and his nurses and staff of Phil Campbell Medical Clinic for the care of Mr. Newell over the years.
