Matthew Green

Matthew Green, 57, passed away May 13, 2016, in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was born in South Carolina to Clifford Green and Luree Mills Green. He was retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years.

Graveside services will be held May 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, with Bro. Bill Harper officiating. Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.

Survivors are his wife, Clydetta Botchway, Red Bay; four children, Tiki Brown and husband Anthony, Meki Green, Matthew Green and Emoney Green; four grandchildren; one brother, Paul Green, and four sisters, Geraldine Lomax and husband Marion, Ibella Parker and husband Joel, Linda Harris and husband Thomas and Brenda Laster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Mitchell Green, brother Clifford Green Jr. and brother-in-law Curtis Laster.

The military will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held May 22 from 5-7 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
