FCSO recovers Mississippi escapee

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office today recovered an escapee from Mississippi.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections called FCSO with information that an escapee of theirs, Erick Hick, 31, was suspected to be near the lakes in Franklin County. Investigators and deputies identified Hick near the Cedar Creek Lake dam and, after a short foot pursuit, were able to bring him into custody.

Chief Deputy Delane Clark said Hick said he was charged with grand larceny, but FCSO has not yet received confirming paperwork from MDOC.

Hick was reported missing from a correctional facility in Simpson County, in south-central Mississippi, after a Thursday escape.
