Billy D. Thorn

Billy D. Thorn, 88, passed away March 16 at Carrington House, Iuka, Miss. He was born in Franklin County to Hosea W. Thorn and Josie McMurray Thorn. He had worked in maintenance at Reynolds Metals and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Services were March 18, at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Ray Kirk and Bro. Steve Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in Dempsey Cemetery, Russellville.

Survivors are one son, Wayne Thorn and wife Deb, Red Bay; one daughter, Rhonda Thorn, Red Bay; and one grandson, Josh Thorn, Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Thorn, and two brothers, Thurston Thorn and Clark Thorn.

Pallbearers were Danny Wooten, Michael Moomaw, Roger Thorn, Gary Thorn, Harold Watson and L.V. Russell.

Visitation was March 17, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
