Brenda Sue Thorn

Brenda Sue Thorn, 68, passed away Feb. 15 at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born in Franklin County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. at Burnout Cemetery, Vina, with Bro. Paul Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Burnout Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are her husband of 28 years, Gene Thorn; three children, Michael Shewbart and wife Cindy, Steven Shewbart and wife Karin and Karen Ozbirn and husband Scott; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-children, Mike Thorn and wife Kay, Tena Jackson and husband Rich Wojda and Shane Thorn and wife Amy; eight step-grandchildren; four brothers, Dwight Blackburn and wife Jeri, Charles Blackburn and wife Patti, Norris Blackburn and Kenny Blackburn; one sister, Leisha Inman; her mother, Dot Honeycutt; and special friend, Rita Johnson.

Pallbearers were Chris White, Nathan Gray, Jerrod Baxter, Kyle Inman, Cody Inman, Jason Ozbirn, Justin Callaway and Anthony Blackburn.
