RPD arrests six in burglaries

Russellville Police Department investigators and Franklin County Sheriff Department investigators have been investigating numerous vehicle and residential burglaries since October.

During the week of Dec. 7, investigators were able to identify three suspects believed to be involved in these burglaries. As the investigation continued throughout the week, additional suspects were identified. Once the investigation was complete, two adults and four juveniles were taken into custody.

The two adults have since made bond, and the four juveniles are currently being held in the Tennessee Valley Detention Center, awaiting a hearing. Charges in the cases range from Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle, Burglary 3rd, Theft of Property 1st, Theft of Property 2nd, and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd. Once the cases are presented to a Franklin County Grand Jury, additional charges and arrests could be forthcoming.

Property was recovered during the investigation, including guns, electronics and other items. Most of the property recovered has been given back to the rightful owners.
