City honors Mrs. America with day named in her honor

It’s not every day someone has a day named in their honor – but that’s exactly what happened for Mrs. America Madeline Mitchell Gwin. Dec. 3, 2015, is Madeline Mitchell Gwin Day in the City of Russellville, as proclaimed by Mayor David Grissom and the City Council.

“I’m so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful city,” Gwin said.

Gwin, a Russellville native, was crowned Sept. 24 in Las Vegas. Gwin will go on to the Mrs. World competition March 2016 in China.
