Apply now for Christmas assistance from Toys for Tots

Late registration for 2015 Christmas Assistance through Toys for Tots for Franklin County will be held Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 104 South Poplar Street in Florence (Room In The Inn office).

Those applying must bring Social Security cards for all members of the household, adults and children; one form of identification, such as driver’s license, Medicaid card, Medicare card, birth certificate or immunization card, for all members of the household; proof of income, such as a copy of a current check or current check stub or a letter of benefits if receiving SSI or Social Security (if there is no current income in the household, you will be asked to explain and provide proof of residence); and proof of residence, such as a copy of a current utility bill, rent receipt or letter from landlord.

Families applying must not be receiving Christmas assistance from any other source, such as churches or other agencies. An age limit of 12 has been imposed to qualify.

For more information call the United Way office at 256-764-5892 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Parents should not bring children to registration with them.
