Tate Ozbirn rushed 29 times for 216 yards and four touchdowns to help the Red Bay Tigers crush the Hatton Hornets 42-0 on a rain-soaked homecoming game.

Red Bay’s defense has shut out opponents in five games this season. The victory Friday night was the Tigers’ 16th consecutive regular-season win and their 19th straight win over Hatton.

Josh Wilson scored first for the Tigers with a 6-yard run in the first quarter. Ozbirn scored his first touchdown of the night on a four-yard run with 3:42 to go in the first period of play. Troy Borden connected with Nick Thorn for the two-point conversion to make the score 14-0.

Wilson scored for the Tigers again to start the second quarter from eight yards out. Ozbirn then scored three straight touchdowns for Red Bay. Ozbirn’s 24-yard run with 2:57 remaining in the half gave Red Bay a 28-0 halftime lead.

Ozbirn scored on runs of 47 yards and 33 yards in the third quarter.

Lightning delayed the game for two hours at the start of the third quarter, and the game didn’t end until around 11 p.m.

The Tigers are now 8-0 overall and 5-0 in region competition and will have an open date this week.

Kilee Anderson was named Red Bay’s 2015 Homecoming Queen.
