Pigskins and page-turners

2_reading

RBHS senior football player Reed Holt reads to Leslie Thorne’s kindergarten class while sophomore cheerleader Harlee Raper looks on. Red Bay High School senior football players and the RBHS varsity cheerleaders are beginning what they hope will become a tradition at RBHS. They will continue to visit the classrooms and read a new book each week through football season. “This is such a great thing,” said RBHS kindergarten teacher Candi Weaver. “My kindergartners love seeing the football players and cheerleaders come to the room and read to them. These little ones look up to these big kids so much. I hope this becomes an annual thing.”
