City holds regular meeting

The following items were approved at Monday’s Russellville City Council meeting:

– appointment of Rex Mayfield to the equalization board

– Air Evac membership renewal for civil service employees in the amount of $3,200

– hiring of Steve Craig Bullion, Daniel Gomez and Daniel Cruise as patrol officers for RPD

– promotion of Chelsea Torbert to police sergeant for RPD

– declaring police K-9 Bama surplus and authorizing sale

– revised police reserve roster

– purchase of seven acres of property owned by Robert DeVaney, $21,000, with intent to provide a way to expand Luketown Cemetery

The next council meeting will be Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. with a work session at 6 p.m.
