Bond has been set for the second man charged with attempted murder in connection with the July 21 shooting on South Washington Avenue in Russellville.
Everett Shields, 17, of East Lawrence Street, is being held on a $250,000 bond, the same bond amount assigned his brother, Javorose Yarbough, who was also arrested for attempted murder – a Class A felony.
“He got the exact same bond as Yarbough,” district attorney Joey Rushing said. “I think they expect one to be the shooter and one to be aiding and abetting the other one.”
Shields was taken into custody July 24, the day after Yarbough turned himself in. Both are in the Franklin County Jail. Rushing said they have 30 days to request a preliminary hearing; the case is eligible to come before the next grand jury in September.
Yarbough and Shields are accused of shooting an 18-year-old. Authorities report the victim is in stable condition following the gunshot wound and resulting surgeries.
