Airmen graduate from basic training
Three airmen from this area have recently graduated from basic military training.
Air Force Airman John M. Sheffield, Air Force Airman Kyle H. Fuller and Air Force Airman Dustin B. Carlton graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Sheffield is the son of Billy and Ruby Sheffield of Spruce Pine.
He graduated in 2013 from Russellville High School.
Fuller is the son of Daniel and Vanessa Fuller of Red Bay.
He is a 2014 graduate of Red Bay High School.
Carlton is the son of Amanda Harris of Fultondale and Barry Carlton of Hayden. He is also the grandson of Bonnie Powell of Mt. Olive and nephew of Uene Powell of Russeville, Mike Powell of Prattville and Billy Reese of Cullman.
He graduated in 2013 from Hayden High School in Hayden.
