An unknown subject in Red Bay found a way to beef up his refrigerator – changing price tags on meat items in the Piggly Wiggly.

Chief Jana Jackson said an employee discovered that price tags from higher priced meat items had been exchanged with price tags for lower priced meat items.

A report was filed for theft by deception, and authorities are searching for this man, captured on Piggly Wiggly surveillance.

“We worked a case like this several years ago, but this is only the second one I remember,” Jackson said.

The unknown male checked out with about $30 worth of meat products, paying about half that much.

Investigation continues, and anyone with information on this crime can call 256-356-4455.
