Survivor Dinner leads up to Relay for Life

A Survivor Dinner will be held April 21 at 6 p.m. at the A.W. Todd Centre in Russellville.  All cancer survivors are invited and encouraged to come share fellowship with others fighting cancer in the county.

Relay for Life Specialist, Anna Duncan, said the dinner is a great way to focus on those who have survived cancer and are currently fighting the disease.

“It is a great time to focus on them,” Duncan said. “There is nothing else going on—it’s just about them—and it is a great time to meet with others who are going through the same thing.”

Roger Bedford will be the speaker at the Survivor Dinner. The dinner is one of a handful of events leading up to the Relay for Life event that kicks off May 1 at the Russellville High School stadium.

Relay is a countywide project and the largest fundraiser in Franklin County. It is expecting to exceed a goal of $95,000 this year
