Lady Tigers defeat Geneva Co. to win 2A state championship

Birmingham, Ala.–The Red Bay Lady Tigers won the 2A State Championship Feb. 27 by defeating Geneva County 34-29 in a closely contested battle to the end.

Morgan Pierce led the Lady Tigers with 11 points and was named the Wilson Sporting Goods Star Player of the Game.

Geneva Co. led 24-22 at the end of three quarters, but Red Bay came back strong in the fourth and took the lead and never looked back.

Pierce also led the team with 8 rebounds.
