Tharptown 73, Rogers 42

The Tharptown Wildcats defeated the Rogers Pirates 73-42 in a regular season contest.  After a sluggish start, the Wildcats had no problem dispatching the Pirates.

After a 12-12 stalemate in the first quarter, Nathan Chaney hit four three-pointers to help the Wildcats blow past the Pirates 29-12 in the second quarter. Tharptown took a 41-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Tharptown extended their lead to 67-36 in the third quarter before coasting to the win.

Chaney led all scorers with 21 points. Max Nolen and Drake Lawson also scored 12 points each.

Others scoring for the Wildcats were Heath Hatton (8), Mikey Rosson (7), Allen Gaston (6), Bailey Motes (5), and Clay Hodge (2).

 

Tharptown 68, Curry 36

The Tharptown Wildcats easily dispatched the Curry Yellow Jackets in the Haleyville Thanksgiving Invitational. The Wildcats led 19-14 after the first quarter but exploded past the Yellow Jackets 31-6 in the second quarter to lead 50-21 at halftime and coasted to the win.

Max Nolen and Bailey Motes led the Wildcats with 14 points each.

Others scoring for Tharptown were Blake Gray (7), Heath Hatton (6), Mikey Rosson (6), Nathan Chaney (5), Drake Lawson (5), Allen Gaston (4), Brady Petree (4), and Mike Rice (3).

 

Tharptown 75, Sulligent 62

Tharptown faced their toughest test of the season defeating Sulligent 75-62 on a neutral court at the Haleyville Thanksgiving Invitational. Bailey Motes with 24 points and Max Nolen with 20 points propelled the Wildcats to the win.

Trailing 18-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats outscored the Blue Devils in each of the final three quarters. Tharptown outscored Sulligent 21-9 in the second quarter to take a 34-27 halftime lead. The Wildcats extended their lead to 54-43 in the third quarter.

Blake Gray added ten points for Tharptown.  Others scoring for the Wildcats were Nathan Chaney (9), Heath Hatton (6), and Mikey Rosson (6).

 

Colbert Heights 87, Belgreen 72

The Belgreen Bulldogs put together an impressive first half of basketball against the Colbert Heights Wildcats but it wouldn’t be enough as the Wildcats went on to win 87-72.  Belgreen played Colbert Heights to a stalemate in the first half.  Colbert Heights led 41-40 going into the locker room.  The Wildcats outscored Belgreen 23-13 in the third quarter and 23-19 in the fourth quarter to take the win.

Ben Inman led Belgreen with 22 points. Dakota Davis added 17 points, Abram Thorn had 13 points, and Cade Parrish scored 12 points in the contest. Others scoring for Belgreen were Payton Scott (4), Joseph Welch (2), and Shawn Jones (2).

 

Covenant Christian 72, Belgreen 56

Covenant Christian jumped out to a big first half lead over the Belgreen Bulldogs and never looked back as they coasted to a 72-56 win.

Covenant Christian led Belgreen 40-16 at halftime, building what would be an insurmountable lead.

Ben Inman led Belgreen with 20 points. Cade Parrish added 13 points. Others scoring for the Bulldogs were Shawn Jones (8), Payton Scott (6), Joseph Welch (4), and Dakota Davis (2).

 

Haleyville 72, Belgreen 59

The Belgreen Bulldogs trailed the Haleyville Lions by just one point going into the final quarter of play Monday night. A three-minute stall by Haleyville and a flurry of turnovers by the Bulldogs allowed the Lions to pull away for the 72-59 win.

Haleyville outscored Belgreen 18-16 in the first quarter and 21-20 in the second quarter to give the Lions a 39-36 halftime advantage. Belgreen mounted a comeback outscoring Haleyville 19-17 in the third quarter. The Lions put the game away with a 16-4 fourth quarter.

Ben Inman led Belgreen with 20 points.  Abram Thorn scored 11 points and Cade Parrish added ten points. Others scoring for the Bulldogs were Dakota Davis (8), Payton Scott (4), Shawn Jones (4), and Franky Wallace (2).
