Grants awarded to local agencies

The Alabama Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention (also known as Children’s Trust Fund) traveled to the Shoals recently to present the Shoals Area Grantees their check for Fiscal Year 2014-2015.

The following are the local grantees: Attention Homes of Northwest Alabama, Inc. – REAL Parent Program – $30,000; Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, Inc. – MOTHERS Program – $18,000; Sheffield City Schools – Aim High Mentoring Program – $15,000; United Cerebral Palsy Center of Northwest Alabama – HEARTS Respite Program – $17,000.

A grand total of $80,000 has been awarded to Shoals area agencies in helping local families and children with the goal of preventing child abuse and neglect.
