Earl Douglas Smith, Sr., 78, Russellville, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at Russellville Hospital.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Washington Avenue Church of Christ.  He was also a retired charter bus driver with Anchor Tours and traveled both the U.S. and Canada.

The visitation was Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral was Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  Officiating at the service was Bro. Edward Bragwell.  Burial was at McWright Cemetery, Isbell.

He is survived by Marjorie Smith; son, Doug Smith; daughter, Dawn Garrison and husband, Hershel; grandchildren, Brett Garrison and wife, Joslyn, Kitt Garrison and wife, Angela; great-grandchildren, Luke, Lydia, and Reagan Garrison; sisters, Martha Wheeler and husband, Nolon, Daphine Copeland, Janice Riner and husband, Douglas; host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester “Deck” and Minnie Dora “Doty” Smith; brother-in-law, Price Millard Copeland; and in-laws, Nila and Andy McWilliams.

The pallbearers were his nephews, Brandon Wheeler, Hudson Copeland, Jaimie Copeland, Wayne Davis, Ben Stancil, and Charley Riner.  The honorary pallbearers were Kerry Gilbert, Carl Kilbert, Charlie Britnell, Cedric Prince, and Leonard Basden.

The family would like to extend special thanks Dr. Keith Morrow, Dr. Kalliath, Dr. Ryan; the staff of Keller Home Health; and the nurses of Russellville Hospital for your love and care shown to our family.
