September 24, 2013

Joshua Owen McNatt, 20, Haleyville, passed away peacefully in his father’s arms on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at his residence.

Joshua spent most of his life battling one physical ailment after another, including cerebral palsy. He was an avid Alabama fan, loved collectible miniature motorcycles and cars; and had his favorite stuffed animals to cuddle up to. He always faced the world with a smile, despite his health issues. He was often found with his brother, who is also in a wheelchair facing health issues of his own.

The funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. Bro. Mike Smith officiated at the service. Burial was in Gray Rock Cemetery, Phil Campbell.

He is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Connie McNatt; sister, Brittany McNatt; brother, Toby McNatt; half-sister, Candy Pruitt; grandmother, Margaret McNatt, Emma Sue Bishop; grandfather, D. Walter Sims; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Owen McNatt, Oscar Owen McLemore; grandmother, Debra Sims; great-grandparents, Joe and Etta McNatt, Eddie and Nancy Niehaus; and aunt, Melinda McNatt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toward the funeral expense of Joshua, in care of Spry Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 246, Russellville, AL 35653.
