John Clinton Pitt, 86, Muscle Shoals, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at ECM Hospital.

Mr. Pitt was a native of Lawrence County and attended the Baptist Church. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received a WWII Victory Medal.

Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Morris Chapel Cemetery, Trinity. Officiating was Rev. Billy Thorn.

Survivors include wife, Betty Pitt; children, Greg Pitt and wife, Tina, and Serena Mather and husband, Tom, both of Tuscumbia; step-children, Gary Wilson and wife, Teresa, Lisa Jenkins and husband, Ray, both of Muscle Shoals, and Anita Wilson and husband, Jeff, Killen; brother, Neal Pitt, Florence; sister, Wylodean Robison, Decatur; grandchildren, Lauren Pitt, Daniel Pitt, and Tanner Hall, Natasha Holt, Brandon Wilson, Alan Jenkins, Jay Keeton, Bradley Keeton, Kimberly Murphy; 13 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Greg Pitt, Daniel Pitt, Tanner Hall, Craig Richeson, Brian Hall, and Gwyn C. Pitt.

He was preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Lillie Mae Pitt; first wife, Wilma E. Pitt; step-grandson, Chandler Wilson.

The family expresses sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of ECM 2nd West, Dr. Webb, Dr. Loren McCoy and Dr. Lynn Ridgeway.
