Larry Gene “Sandman” Sandy, 69, Russellville, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Burns Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  Burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dena Sandy, father, Bruce Sandy, sisters, Rachel Prince and Elizabeth Stover.

He is survived by children, Monica Sandy, Michael Sandy, Daniell Sandy; grandchildren, Nicolas Sandy, Christian Sandy, Logan Sandy; sisters, Johnnie Ruth Dill, Becky Mayfield, Laura Nelson; and a host of nieces  and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Rick Lovelady, Joey Quillen, Joel Ergle, Barry Winstead, Wayne Roberts and Tim Henderson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Michaels, Jerome Green, Keith Franks, Charlie Banks and Bill Jackson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Burns Nursing Home staff, all of Larry’s friends, and Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care shown to our family.
