William M. “Billy” Ross, Jr., 87, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Cottage of the Shoals.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was retired from U.S. Reduction as a mechanic on heavy equipment.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Johnny Richardson and Bro. Mike Morrow. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens with military honors.

He is survived by his wife, Opal C. Ross; son, Don Ross; daughter, Jane Saint; step-son, Bratie Underwood III; step-daughter, Linda Underwood; grandchildren, Chase Ross, Nicholas Ross, Deanna Saint, Chris Saint, Josh Saint; Bratie Underwood IV; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Zoie Saint; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Ross, Sr.; mother, Linnie Lowe Ross; brother, Charles Ross; and sister, Ruth Ross.

The pallbearers will be Johnny Taylor, Donnie Hollaway, Dale Moore, Thomas Underwood, John Richard, Jack Williams, and Roney Murphy.
