Gordon Lester Fretwell, Sr., 79, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at his home.

He lived his entire life in Franklin County. He was a member and past deacon of Jonesboro Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran, retired from U.S. Reduction with 20 years of service, employed by Reynolds Metals Company for nine years and managed and retired from Elliott Branch Camp Grounds.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2012, 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home with Tom Wimberly officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Sue Fretwell; son Joey Fretwell, daughters, Wanda Timmons, all of Russellville, Suzanne Tuttle, Arizona, Melissa Landers, Russellville; sister, Martha Johnson, Rockford, Ill., 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Danny Hatton, Jeff Fretwell, Tim Fretwell and Michael Riley.

He was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Ruby Fretwell; granddaughter, Jessica Mills; brothers, James, Benard and Spruell Fretwell; sisters, Mary Helen Turpin and Johnnie Sue Hatton.
