Phil Campbell home destroyed in Friday fire

A home on Mayhall Drive in Phil Campbell was destroyed by a fire early Friday. No one was at the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries were involved.

The Phil Campbell Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire Friday morning at a home on Mayhall Drive.
Police Chief Merrell Potter said when he arrived on the scene about 8 a.m., the home owned by Jeremy and Tiffany Kimbrough was producing heavy smoke and flames began to come out of the roof shortly after his arrival.
Officials said the roof had burned away and much of the interior received heavy damage.
Potter said no one was injured since neither Jeremy or Tiffany Kimbrough or their children were at home when the fire started.
Officials are still working to determine the cause of the fire. East Franklin and Frog Pond Volunteer fire departments also responded to the scene.
