David Q. “Jake” Page, 91, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Southern Magnolia Estates, Golden, Miss.

He was born March 31, 1920, to Lee Allen and Mattie Tharp Page. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was one of the Corp members who built Tishomingo State Park. He was a farmer until he retired and then worked for NuWay Carpet Cleaning. He was a member of Burleson Masonic Lodge and was a member, deacon and song leader at Burleson Baptist Church for more than 50 years.

Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Walter Bennett and Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Burial was in Burleson Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, David A. Page and his wife, Brenda, and Catherine Kayle Hardin and her husband, Glen; brother, Neal Page and wife, Esta Lee, of Halltown; grandchildren, Jerry Glen Hardin, Terry Glen Hardin and wife, Karie, Steven Page and wife, Cheri, and Christopher Todd Page; great-grandchildren, Pasha and Sophie Page and T.J. and Dylan Hardin; step-son, Royce Brooks and wife, Tarley; step-son-in-law, Franky Turner; a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

His first wife, Mary Adeline “Addie” Hester Page passed away in 1985. Willie Mae Horton Brooks Page, his second wife, passed away in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter, Mary, granddaughter, Heather Hardin, his siblings, Johnnie Goodwin, Iris Williams, Ozelle Gauden, Jim Page, Bill Page and step-daughter, Charlene Turner.

Pallbearers were grandchildren and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were nephews and members of Burleson Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burleson Cemetery Fund, 622 Highway 4, Vina, Al. 35593.
