Thomas R. Evans, 70, Russellville, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Russellville Hospital.

The visitation will be from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at North Highland Church of Christ in Russellville prior to the 3 p.m. funeral service in the church sanctuary with Bro. Keith Barnett officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Berry, Chad Frederick, Gary Gunderman, Gary Hester, Stan Swinney, Jackie Taylor, Johnny Thornton, Donald Wray and Ricky Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Chaffin, James Clement, Butch Drake and Mickey Spillers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. & Lencie C. Evans.

He is survived by sons, Michael A. Evans, Tuscaloosa, Lonnie R. Evans, South Florida; sisters, Jimmie Lou Martin and husband, Billy O., Huntsville, Betty E. Richardson and husband Lan, Demopolis; granddaughter, Kathryn Evans, Macon, Ga.; one niece and four nephews.

He was a member of North Highland Church of Christ. He was a polio survivor who loved his church. The church members became his local family taking him to church, various games and functions. He was an avid Alabama and Russellville football fan. Roll Tide and Go Tigers!
