Lois “Bob” Cummings, 76, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Helen Keller Hospital surrounded by his family.
The visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, Ala.  His body will lie-in-state from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Russellville Church of God Sunday, November 13, 2011 with Bro. George Sansbury, Sis. Pearl Shelton, Bro. Nick McSpadden officiating.  Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ida Cummings; siblings, Charles Borden, Jack Cummings, Nell Rogers, Dorothy Borden, Della Presley.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Puckett Cummings; children, Gary  Cummings and wife, Barbara, Linda Cummings Greenhill, Shirley Cummings McSpadden and husband, Nick, Michael Cummings and wife, Tyra, Lisa Cummings Gann and husband, Byron; siblings, Vernie Cummings and wife, Francis, Jerry Cummings and wife, Joy, Margaret Lovett; 21 grandchildren, Gary Cummings, Jr. and wife, Mandy, Cory Cummings and wife, Jessica, Dr. Jeremy Campbell and wife, Amy, Brett Hall and wife, Joanie, Brian Hall and wife, Mirtha, Tiffany Greenhill Boatwright and husband, Chris, Jessica McSpadden, Nicholas McSpadden, Michael David Cummings, Joshua Cummings, Ariel Cummings, Molly Gann, Mallory Gann, Elisabeth Lerch Gann, Olivia Gann; 11 great-grandchildren, Addie Cummings, Avery Cummings, Katie Cummings, Brandt Cummings, Braden Hall, Brooklyn Hall, Brayden Hall, Issabella Hall, Emma Campbell, Asher Campbell, Brody Boatwright; a host of nieces and nephews.   
He was a member of Russellville Church of God and My Fathers’ House Ministries. He was retired from US Reduction; a Russellville District 5 City Councilman from 1968-1972 with one of his proudest accomplishments, the building of West Elementary School. He was the best husband, wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and friend.
