Rowe Sims Wren, 94, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on August 25, 1917 to William Loammi and Leona Sims Wren. His father was a singing teacher.
Mr. Wren was a retired Methodist minister, a retired Design Engineer of TVA, and an Army veteran.
Mr. Wren was full of music and God’s love. He was a musician, artist, and poet.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bo Lloyd and Bro. Jake Mays officiating. Burial was at Red Bay Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lessie Mae Wren; sons, Randy Keith Wren and wife, Cathy, of Oklahoma and Phillip Mark Wren, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Buddy Wren, Jessica Wren; one sister, Waneeta Boersema, of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Loammi and Leona Wren; several brothers and sisters.
The pallbearers were Eddie Wren, Lee Page, Anthony Blankenship, Phil James, Randy Kimbrough, and Jerry Thrasher. The honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kelly Segars and Melvin Hallmark.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to our friends and neighbors for all your love and prayer. To our new ministers, Bo Lloyd and Clinton Busler, we love our ministers and those in the pews.
