James Gilbert Mitchell, 63, of Decatur, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Florence Nursing Home and Rehab.

Mr. Mitchell was a native of Franklin County.

He is survived by son, Mickey Quillen, Phil Campbell; daughter, Amanda Haithcock, Cleveland, Ohio; several grandchildren; aunts, Linda Willis, Tuscumbia, Wilma Sockwell, Florence, and Margaret Collins, Tuscumbia; uncles, Obie Mitchell, Decatur, and Thurman Hill, Tuscumbia; several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elnora Mitchell; sister, Evelyn Ray.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Pinkard Funeral Home Russellville will be directing.
