Albert Spruell Fretwell, 76, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on Sunday, August 18, 1935 to Albert and Ruby Fretwell.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Russellville, with Bro. Tim Spivey officiating.  Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Polly Bailey Fretwell; daughters, Pamela Garrett and husband, Barry, of Birmingham; Rhonda Thompson and husband, Benny, of Muscle Shoals; son, Michael Riley, Jr., of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Mandy Bates and husband, Tim, Drew Bentley and wife, Brandi, Allie Thompson; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon Lester Fretwell; sister, Martha Johnson; lifelong friend, Dr. John T. Graves; special niece, Gladys Curnutt; numerous other nieces and nephews; little dog and best buddy, “Hondo”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruby Fretwell.
The pallbearers were Jim Bailey, Larry Bailey, Khris Bailey, Bobby Joe Burcham, Robin Grissom, and Bob Burnell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Rick Irons, Sally Bryant, RN, and the Hospice of the Shoals for the love and care shown towards the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Colbert Church of Christ, River Road, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661 or to the American Cancer Society, 104 Poplar Street, Florence, AL 35630.
