Man charged with sexting minor

RED BAY – A Franklin County man was indicted by the September grand jury after being accused of sending nude pictures of himself to a minor.

Anthony Blake Parker, 31, 612 First St., Red Bay, was indicted on two counts of possession of pornographic material, one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of distribution of obscene material to a minor, officials said.

According to authorities, Parker was arrested in April after the parent of a 15-year-old female reported the inappropriate text messaging.

During the investigation, officers with the Red Bay Police Department found two nude pictures of the minor when they questioned Parker about the text messages.

Authorities said in addition to the nude pictures of the girl, Parker had also sent her nude pictures of himself to the minor and had solicited sex through the text messages.

Authorities discovered the texting had taken place for several months before it was reported.

Parker was released from custody on a $20,000 bond.

His case is scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 25.
