Russellville Hospital a top performer

Russellville Hospital has been recognized as a top performing hospital in The Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures program in their annual report, “Improving America’s Hospitals.”

The Joint Commission recognizes Russellville Hospital for achieving excellence in performance on its accountability measures during 2010 for Pneumonia and Surgical Care. The Joint Commission established this program to honor those hospitals that consistently demonstrate excellent performance on evidence-based process of care measures.

Russellville Hospital met the following criteria for recognition of its achievement: First, the hospital achieved performance of 95 percent or above on a single, composite score that includes all the accountability measures for which it reports data to The Joint Commission, including measures that had fewer than 30 eligible cases or patients.

Second, the hospital also met a 95 percent performance threshold for every accountability measure for which it reports data to The Joint Commission, excluding measures with fewer than 30 eligible cases or patients.

Out of the 3,099 hospitals submitting accountability measure data to The Joint Commission, Russellville Hospital was one of only 405 to meet or exceed the target rates of performance for 2010.

“I am so proud of our achievements with core measures. This award compares our facility on a national level and recognizes the great care available right here at our community hospital,” Russellville Hospital CEO Christine Stewart said.

“It also speaks to the outstanding collaboration among our nursing staff, quality department and medical staff in delivering excellent care.”
