Miss Brittany Elizabeth Sparks, 22, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011.

She was born August 25, 1988, in Riverdale, Georgia, the daughter of Mr. Danny Dewade Sparks and Mrs. Debbie McDougle Swanson.  She was a Christian by faith.  She was a 2008 graduate of Chapel Hill High School.  She loved sports and enjoyed playing basketball and softball.  She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics.  She was a current student at West Georgia Technical College in Douglasville.  Her parents were very proud of her and her accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Athens McDougle and paternal grandmother, Vernie Mae Wade Sparks.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Debbie McDougle Swanson and Ken Swanson, of Jackson, Ga.; father and stepmother, Danny Dewade and Sandy Sparks, of Douglasville, Ga.; brothers and sister-in-law, Brandon and Lisa Sparks, of Louisville, Ky., and Ryan Siegwarth, of Douglasville, Ga.; maternal grandmother, Eva McDougle, of Phil Campbell, Ala.; paternal grandparents, Norris and Helen Sparks, of Russellville, Ala.; two nephews, Landen Sparks and Luke Siegwarth; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family received friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, on Saturday, July 9, 2011.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, Ala.  Interment was at Shady Grove Cemetery, Phil Campbell.
