Man charged with pill theft

A Franklin County man suspected of theft was arrested on Thursday for drug charges instead.

Christopher Arlin Fisher, 34, 18657 U.S. 43, Russellville, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.

According to Oliver, Fisher was a suspect in a burglary that had been reported to the sheriff’s office on Thursday.

While investigating these allegations, Fisher was found to be in possession of prescription medication matching the description of the medication stolen during the reported burglary.

Fisher denied stealing the medication but was arrested for the illegal possession of the pills.

At press time, Fisher was still in jail on a $2,500 bond.
