Club makes bears, blankets for RPD
When crime or tragedy occurs, many people don’t consider the children who are victims of these situations and what they might be going through, but the ladies in the Mountaintop Homemaker’s Club are doing their part to make sure that isn’t the case.
On Thursday, the Mountaintop Homemaker’s Club donated handmade teddy bears and blankets to the Russellville Police Department for officers to use in situations where children are affected.
“A lot of times when there are car accidents with kids involved, we don’t have anything to give them to comfort them or calm them down,” Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said. “These teddy bears and blankets will really be important in situations like those.”
Hargett thanked the ladies on Thursday for their donation and for their generosity.
“These ladies take time out of their busy lives to do something nice for others and I appreciate all the hard work they put into making these items for our department,” Hargett said.
The Mountaintop Homemakers Club meets on the second Thursday of every month at 10 a.m. at New Hope Methodist Church on Franklin 81 in the Trapptown community. Anyone interested in the club is encouraged to attend.
