Red Bay water park opens
Franklin County residents who are looking for a way to escape the scorching heat the area has had this past week can seek refuge at the Red Bay Water Park, which opened for the summer season on May 28.
According to Red Bay Park and Recreations Director Joey Allen, the park features one tall, straight slide; one tall, curved slide; four small slides and four pools – a rarity for the area.
“The Red Bay Water Park is a unique attraction for our county and there’s something there everyone can enjoy,” Allen said.
The cost of attending the park is $6 and it will be open to the public on Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
The park is also available for private parties on Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Allen said lifeguards are on duty at the park but anyone under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
“What better way to hand out with your friends and stay cool?” Allen said. “This is a great place for people to spend their summer vacation.”
