Home damaged by fire
THARPTOWN – The Tharptown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at 7315 Highway 48 at 11:10 am Thursday.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The occupants were at the hospital with their newborn baby. They were scheduled to arrive home later that day.
Firefighters from Tharptown and Russellville fire departments extinguished the blaze within a few minutes. The fire appeared to have started in the rear of the house near the kitchen, officials said. The fire was contained to one room but the home suffered heavy smoke and heat damage throughout.
