Meth arrests made at local motel

An initial kidnapping tip led Russellville Police to uncover multiple meth labs inside a local motel over the weekend, officials said.

Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said Amanda Perkins McAnally, 40, Amberwood Lane, Pinson, and Bennie Joe Tittle Jr., 39, 89 Pine Ave., Haleyville, are both charged with first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Investigators said officers received information from authorities in Jefferson County regarding a suspect who was allegedly involved in a kidnapping case.

Law enforcement officials said the tip led officers to believe Tittle was hiding out with McAnally at the Greenwood Inn located on U.S. 43 in Russellville.

After pinpointing what room they were in, officials said they seized the room looking for a kidnapped victim, but instead found active meth labs inside.

Authorities said the initial report was that Tittle had held McAnally against her will, but while investigating, officers found those claims to be false.

Investigators said officers found one-pot labs in the bathroom and found numerous other materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine scattered throughout the motel room.

Both McAnally and Tittle were taken into custody and transported to the Russellville City Jail and later transferred to the Franklin County Jail where bonds were set at $7,500 each.
