Nathan Lofton

Nathan E. “Yank” Lofton, 84, of Red Bay, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born December 2, 1925 in Alabama to Claude and Dellar Mitchell Lofton. He was a pipeliner for 50 years, a Mason, and a Christian.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Hollis Boyd, Bro. Eddie Lofton, and Bro. Carlton Lofton officiating. Burial was in the Red Bay City Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lofton of Red Bay; son, Carlton Lofton Sr., and wife, Betty Carol, of Red Bay; sister, Betty Wilemon of Red Bay; brothers, Joe Lofton and Charlie Lofton, both of Red Bay; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Lofton Six; son, Billy Wayne Lofton; and his first wife,  Iva Christine Lofton.
